miniSAP って、なんだ？

SAPの社員だと、申請して許可されれば必要なコンポーネントを使うことができます。ERP, CRMなどのアプリケーションやNetWeaverなど。また、デモ用の設定やマスタデータが完備されたIDESと呼ばれるサーバ群を使うことは、ほぼ自由です。ですから、必要があれば、それらを使って、ファンクションチェックしたり、新たな設定を試したり、コーディングしたり...かなりの自由度でやりたいことができる環境にあります。外部の方からすると、かなり羨ましい環境だと思います。
japsapan様の2/21記事自己紹介に言及のある、miniSAPというものを初めて知りました。あわててぐぐってみると、What is Mini SAP?なるページが。

MINISAP is a full-fledged Basis SAP system without the SAP applications (FI, CO, MM, SD, etc.). It has every Basis function of a standard SAP-R/3 system (ABAP/4 Development Workbench, Data Transfer Workbench, Computer Center Management System - CCMS, etc.) and, therefore, is a very good means to get exposed and trained in ABAP/4 programming language.

It is also a very good personal productivity tool (i.e., it can be used to develop programs for customers without having to be on-site).

The minisap are for those who are new and want to get Basis exposure or want to learn ABAP programming at their home PC.

そうか、FI, CO, SD, MMなどが載っていない素のBASISシステムなんだ...開発ワークベンチや移送、CCMSなどは機能として搭載されているんだ。へぇー。

In order to get the free Mini SAP, you need to buy the following book where in you will get two CD's of SAP WAS 6.10 (Web Application Server) which can be installed in your system and practice ABAP programming etc...
